Oakwood Aromatics will be in the Made in Yorkshire Marquee, opposite the band and refreshments tents. Always a FABulous day out with shows and live music all day. A fine little show in what is one of the prettiest villages in the Yorkshire Moors. There's always lots happening in Thornton le Dale so when they want to put on a show they do it really well. Plus, with the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors and Dalby Forest right on hand there's plenty of gorgeous countryside all about.
Tickets: Adults £9.00, Children 5 - 16 years £4.00, Children under 5 years Free
Admission to the Showfield after 4.00 p.m. £2.50
How much do we love this show? Lots, is the answer. During the summer we used to gad about to all sorts of village and dales shows, set up, take a bit of money, take down, often get wet, sometimes get stuck in mud .... and eventually we decided that we'd only do shows that either we always did well at, or ones that we simply enjoyed spending time at. Nidderdale we always seem to do well at, and Muker and Kirkby Fleetham are shows at which we always come away with a huge smile on our face.
Like Muker, the Kirkby Fleetham Feast is purely for the local community. They have no aims to attract thousands of people, they just want to bring the village together. The show opens with a Dog Show at 2pm(but awards not for best of breed or good behaviour, these awards are stuff like "waggiest tail" or "dog that looks most like its owner" or "dog the judge would most like to take home"). Then there follows displays - we've had the Red Barrows (a village formation wheel-barrow display team), we've had local characters dressed up for the Yorkshire Village People (with a farmer, a vicar, a bobby, a butcher etc) singing YMCA.
It's free to get in, there are a few stalls (plants, cakes, gorgous soap) there's a beer tent and the WI does tea, cake and sandwiches in the village hall from 2pm It's simple, it's local and if the sun shines it's an awful lot of fun.
The showground arena is free of charge. Admission to the showtent is from 2pm - 5pm, adults £1, child/concessions 50p.

Busy and thriving agricultural show, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. Held in the shade of Kilnsey Crag, this is a strictly no dog show, as there is a day of very fas, competitive harness racing with horses. Grea day out! Insane fell race, must be seen to be believed! See you there!
Aaah! We LOVE Muker show! A small and friendly traditional agriculture and horticultural show blessed with an enviable location – the meadows in Muker village – with stunning views up and down the dale. With Muker Silver Band, Fell Race, Competitions and Maypole. Our Gazebo will be opposite the tea tent....that's handy!
A very traditional agricultural show and one of our very favourites, with trade stands, produce, sheepdog trials, horticulture competitions and the fell race with Muker Silver Band playing throughout the day. 2013 was glorious and Oakwood Aromatics' very own soapmaker Phil took part in the Muker Fell Race (coming a creditable 4th from last) - so who knows what 2014 will bring. This show is a really fun day out, especially if you stay right to the end for the sing song with the silver band outside the Farmer's Arms village pub for which everyone blocks the road to the bemusement (and probably annoyance) of passing drivers.
Tickets: Adults £6; Children (5-15 years) £1; Under 5 free
